Choosing an Orangery or Conservatory?
An orangery is more of an extension of your existing property than a conservatory is. Harmonised with the current style of the building, orangeries use more brick and less glass for a heightened sense of privacy and can be used as an additional room throughout the year.
Our bespoke orangeries are tailored and adapted to your specific wants and needs. The first decision you should make is choosing between a traditional or contemporary orangery.
Traditional Orangery or Contemporary Orangery?
We cater for all our customers’ varying needs and budgets at West Yorkshire Windows. A contemporary orangery is a more cost-effective choice if you are looking for an orangery that combines most of the features of a traditional orangery, but does not have a flat perimeter around the roof.
A contemporary orangery still consists of a solid brick structure and there is very little difference from the external.
Embrace the modern style
Add modern touch to your orangery with a glass roof. With intelligent glazing, glass roof orangeries can maintain a comfortable temperature. You can enjoy your orangery at all times as it will insulate your orangery to a fantastic standard and ensure the weather has no effect on the design.
The important question
Think about this: is it crucial for your orangery to reflect your home’s style or would you rather it showcase your garden? We can help you figure this out!

Our orangeries can be finished in a startling number of colours...
You used to be quite restricted by colours with UPVC products, including UPVC orangeries, but nowadays, they come in all sorts of coloured finishes. Our standard colour range is comprised of White, Cream, Whitegrain and Chartwell Green, whilst our contemporary collection includes Irish Oak, Black and Grey.
Let your personality shine through by opting for a colour that you love...
Your orangery can be decorated in an array of colourful finishes that will bring life to the design. We will need to consider the roof styling and frame when selecting the perfect colour, but this will still leave you with a wide assortment of choices of varied shades and woodgrain finishes.
It’s our powder-coating process that brings out our aluminium finishes...
We often get customers asking us how we produce our aluminium finishes as they’re taken aback by the quality of them. It’s all to do with the 11-stage powder-coating procedure we employ to apply each of the finishes to the aluminium frames. As for our woodgrains, they are created using the sublimation method and come in Walnut, Oak and Rosewood, which you would easily believe are actual wood-based finishes.
Your orangery will be a temperature-controlled living space...
You have three options for a glass glazed roof: the Classic Roof, Cornice Roof or Lantern Roof. Classic Roofs have proven to be one of the most reliable roofing systems you can buy, and it’s incredible how much glass it can accommodate. One of the most distinctive roofing systems we offer at West Yorkshire Windows is our cornice roof and it’s the actual cornice that makes it a true original. Lantern Roofs are manufactured to the dimensions of your new orangery, you get the most wonderful aerial view through a lantern roof and it’s a perspective that you will never tire of immersing yourself in.
From the classic to the quirky...
We have a beautiful selection of both traditional and modern-styled handles, made by our skilled craftspeople for you to choose from.
Our handles promise a smooth opening and closing, as well as containing a secure locking system.

With our experience, we know how you can achieve the perfect orangery.
One of the very first jobs will be to determine where the orangery is best positioned at your home as you want it to receive plenty sunlight. Using our vast knowledge of orangeries, we can tell you that a north or east facing orangery will be most suitable if you want a bright extension in the morning. If you like the idea of the orangery being well-illuminated later in the day, towards the end of the afternoon or early evening, request a south or west facing extension. One of our design consultants will offer any guidance you need.
Choose the right doors to make add that wow factor...
To make everyone stand up and take notice of your new orangery, you only need to have some bi-folding doors assimilated into the design. These are the ideal door for those looking to make a statement. For those wanting a glass door without taking up floor space, a sliding patio door is the ideal way to connect your orangery to your garden. Or, if you’d like to add a classic charm to your home consider a French door.
Whichever door catches your eye, our team are on hand and ready to help design your perfect orangery.
