They agreed to the addition of white leaded UPVC windows and a new white composite door, and the difference they’ve made has been stark. The bay window has been one of the most influential factors in modernising the house.
Because it has a slight forward projection, the leaded detailing has extra prominence. Not to say that the leaded window upstairs doesn’t have the same effect, as it does!
Just aside that bay window is the new front door. Built using a series of robust materials, it’s an imposing entrance that is tremendously tough and delivers top-notch insulation to the house. Rather than just go for a plain glass door, there is some bevelled glass in the design, and this adds an element of interest to it.
You can tell that the householder is happy with the door as they have tried to give it extra emphasis by placing some floor plants and a hanging basket close by. We always recommend bevelled glass if a customer is concerned about people being able to see too much through their door.
