You can easily understand why sash windows have lasted for as long as they have. They have a simple, but classic design, that suits almost any property type, old or new. The only way to make them even more fetching is to have Georgian bars added, which is what this shrewd customer chose to do.
Just like a traditional timber sash window, these sash windows are opened via the movable panel. When opened, there is enough of a gap for a generous breeze to drift into the house. We would never contemplate using wood to build our sash windows as it is a poor insulator.
The French doors have also been treated to some Georgian bar detailing, including the side panels. They entice the family to use the garden more regularly than they did prior to their installation thanks to the large double opening they provide. One of the trickiest elements of the project was crafting an arched sash window for the aperture at the rear.
It was a painstaking process, but we prevailed at the task at hand as we’re accustomed to designing sash windows in various shapes and sizes. There’s a new entrance into the building too, courtesy of the black composite door. Black front doors always have an imposing look and this front door is no different.
