Once things are fully back to some form of normality, there will be way more people working from home than there were before the pandemic.
That’s because lots of businesses have found that working from home has worked out well for them, and they’re saying their employees can carry on homeworking either full or part-time.
If you’re given that option, you must apply yourself just like you would in your old office, and also need a great workspace at home.
Your work area should be set up so that it aids your working. We can offer advice on establishing a brilliant workspace:
French / Patio / Bi-Folding Doors
Unless it’s the height of summer, you will have to work indoors. But you can get the feel of the outdoors in your workspace with the installation of French, patio or bi-folding doors.
The glass panes that make up much of these door designs will transport lots of natural light into it, making it beautifully illuminated and bright.
They could also offer an opening for those times when you need some fresh air to drift in.
Roof Lantern / Skylight
To pull in more light than any French, patio or bi-folding door, get a roof lantern or skylight put into the ceiling of the room in which you work.
It will provide a predominantly glazed covering, so you can anticipate a flood of sunlight entering into the space, just what you need to be alert and full of energy.
A skylight or roof lantern will be an amazing sight within the room too.
Home Office Extension
Make a permanent office for yourself and invest in a home office extension for the house, which you can have organised to help your homeworking requirements.
It will be more practical than sitting at the dinner table or lying on your bed with your laptop, and it will put you into more of a work-mode.
The addition of a home office will also prove useful for selling your property as home offices are big amongst buyers right now, and it could draw added interest.
